Redgwell Construction provided complete building and project management services to this contemporary minimalistic 550m2 3 storey home. Situated on a steep cliff, this solid Masonry home is anchored to the cliff face with a series of extensive concrete piles and palisade wall. Internal features include 3 high spec bathrooms, imported kitchens, a gymnasium with viewing window into the side of the pool, a lift and an art studio. Externally the house incorporates imported limestone stone cladding, plastered masonry and zinc metal cladding. An automated louvered roof provides shelter to outdoor living spaces with an infinity edge pool providing a seamless transition out to the Waitemata Harbour.

“Following a 6 month search for an appropriate builder, Sumich Architects and ourselves chose Redgwell Construction to build our new home. Our 4 key criteria in the selection of Redgwell Construction were: 1. Their craftsmanship. 2. Their proven ability to price a project and then work to that price. 3. Their commercial strength. This was a 2 year project and we did not want to let the contract to a company that ran into financial difficulties part way through. 4. Their ability to contribute as a fully fledged member of the team. The team, in addition to Redgwell’s, included Matt Chaplain of Sumich Architects , Jenny Marshall, the Interior Designer, and Aletro Systems for audio and video. As well as ourselves. We are delighted with the result. The building part of the project started in March 2007 and was completed in March 2009. We found the experience to be a very positive one.”
